Hunter Core Requirement
We created the Hunter Core Requirement (HCR) to enhance your intellectual development and propel you toward your success goals as a liberal arts college graduate. HCR is divided into the following four categories. You will need to complete all four to graduate, regardless of your major.

Pluralism and Diversity classes promote an informed world view and enhance your college experience.
Choose from the courses below to meet this and other requirements from CUNY Core at the same time. The source of these classes can also be part of your major. One course must be taken from each group below (A, B, C & D).List of Approved Courses for the Pluralism and Diversity Requirement
A. Non-European societies (1 course)
B. African Americans, Asian Americans, Latino Americans, or Native Americans (1 course)
C. Women and/or issues of gender or sexual orientation (1 course)
D. Europe (1 course)
How many Pluralism and Diversity classes do you need?
- If you’re transferring less than 31 credits, you need 4 classes. These should be one from each group above (A, B, C and D).
- If you’re transferring more than 31 credits, you need 2 classes. These should be one from each group above (A, B and C). The two courses cannot come from the same group.
